Brazil is Not Ready for 2016 Olympics
I advise everyone with plans to visit Brazil for the Olympics in Rio — to stay home. You will be putting your life at risk in Rio de Janeiro.
The 2016 Olympics are scheduled to kick off in Rio de Janeiro on August 5 and right now it looks like the games could be a disaster of epic proportions.
Developing countries should not be allowed to host such lavish sporting events like the FIFA world cup or the Olympics. The fact that they do not have a grip over their social problems and infrastructure is proof enough that these countries are going way out of their capacity to provide for such events and this is unsustainable. One or two months of Olympics is not going to provide true economic growth in the long run and this will leave them worse off than before.
Let’s not forget that ISIS is also probably targeting Rio due to the lack of counter terrorism agencies in place.
I lived in Rio de Janeiro for many years, it a is a dangerous and dirty city.
